WHAT IS FLL?

​​The FLL (First Lego League) is an competition involving approximately 23,000 teams (2 - 10 members) per year worldwide. The goal is to get as many children and adolescents enthusiastic about technology as possible and to motivate and motivate them to solve difficult, technical tasks. Furthermore, it is very important to Fll that the participating groups develop a strong team spirit and enjoy the competition. In the competitions you meet a lot of nice people and make friends. Above all the competition are the so-called core values:
 

  • We are a team.

  • We solve the tasks independently. Our coaches help us with this.

  • We learn together because we know that even our coaches and mentors do not have answers to everything.

  • We are in friendly competition with each other.

  • What we discover is more important than what we gain.

  • We share our experiences with others.

RESEARCH

In the research presentation, the teams present a proposal for a solution or an improvement for an existing problem. This requires research in advance, interviewing experts and writing a play.

ROBOT GAME 

The robot game is about building your own unique robot. This must be skillfully programmed to solve tasks on a given and always the same playing field by the FLL. In the competition you have 2 ½ minutes to use the programmed and to collect as many points as possible.

ROBOT DESIGN

Robot design is about introducing the robot used for the robot game. A jury pays particular attention to innovative construction methods and clever programming, but the strategy for managing the tasks also plays an important role.

TEAMWORK

In teamwork, a jury checks to what extent the above-mentioned basic values have been implemented in the team. Each team faces a short challenge. The jury also monitors the teams throughout the day of the competition.
